this excavator is only a toy I would say.
It makes 3 shovels on a dump truck and then the driver has
15 or 20 min holiday until the one dump truck comes again to
load.

They only have one dump truck.

It's incredible to use such a machine for one dumper ! A 45 tons excavtor would be enough, and only a driver too.

But it's what I say in my mail "I'm surprised by the simplicity of the place where this machine works".

The advantage is the driver can show you how to drive this excavtor

The reason why these machines are used is that the working conditions are very hard.
In this quarry they can not blast the rock efficiently due to the closeness to a village.
So the 994 has to rip the limestone from a very hard rock formation (during the operator's "holiday" , as you can see on my photo).
A smaller machine probably would not be able to perform this task.
And the dump truck size is perfect for their needs.

And yes, the operator is very kind

ein 984er Liebherr wäre völlig ausreichend für denen ihre Verhältnisse.
Mit Reißzahn, Löffel und Schnellwechsler würde das auf jeden Fall reichen.

Ich hatte ja gesagt wie wir dortwaren hatte der Fahrer nach jedem
Ladespiel um die 20min Pause wo er den Liebherr sogar ausgemacht hatte...

Was die obere Wand betrifft, gebe ich dir recht, da würde die Kombi aus Eigeltingen reichen, da dort die Schichten doch relativ locker liegen.

Aber an der unteren Wand mit den dicken, massiven Schichten würde der sich wahrscheinlich den Reißzahn ausbeißen

Als ich dort war, stand gerade eine besonders harte Schicht an, mit der der 994 so seine liebe Not hatte. Reißleistung in 1h: ca. 350 t. Hat sich oft angehört, als würden sich die Zähne verbiegen

Ist ja letztendlich auch egal, die Entscheidung wurde vom Steinbruchbetreiber mit Sicherheit gründlich überdacht.

Oder Liebherr hat einen guten Vertreter geschickt
