QUOTE(Gottwald @ 10.05.10 - 19:49)

Hi,

If I count the 3150 I know of then I would come to 4.
There is the one that was delivered to Thyssen Stahl, and before that there were if i am correct 2 delivered to scandinavia for building Oilrig concrete undercarriges,one of them should be the one in the picture.
There has been a great accident (As was told to me)about 15 to 20 years ago where during stabalizing work on a concrete oilrig undercarrige in a fjord the structure sunk with a few towercranes on it (2 or 3 500HC and a 1250HC or 3150HC)
The 4th one is delivered to the Korean shipyard.
Then there are theonly 2 x 2000HC in Mexico,and 6 or 7 1250 HC the last one standing on the Bauma and before that in 2009 the one delivered to a Shipyard in the North of Spain near the French Border.

@Gottwald:
thank you very much for this very interesting data. I know that the 3150 HC from Thyssen has a standard HUH of 96,5m, also the one in the picture from Verdal is about 107-108m high (total height is 128m). It has a kind of statical base, beeing relocated on SPMTs (self-propelled modular transporters). Anyway a great crane. Do you know something more about the third 3150HC? ( hook height, static/mobile). Also i would like to know if any of old 1250HC was mobile. All these 1250HC have the standar hook height (80-90m) or is any with a greater height, custom made?

Greetings,

3150HC

In a 1989 document was shown that Libherr had at the time in program cranes like 3150HC and 4000HC. Unfortunately the last one ( with a standard hook height of 110m) was not built in the 80s. Only one customized 4000HC was built for Koreea. At present, I see, Liebherr discarded from their internet site the data of 5000 HC, 4000HC an 3150HC. Only 2000HC and 1250HC remained. The truth is the late 70s and 80s were the pinnacle age of giant towers. It is true, after 2000 it were built some giant tower cranes like liebherr 4000HC and 3150HC, Kroll k-2500, k-3000, K-3500, K-4000, K-5000 were delivered for shipyards and therefore they had relatively low hook heights, maximum 75m.

the base of the 3150HC tower from Verdal in process of relocation. total height is 128,5 m to be accurate. Would have been nicer if the crane was moving on rails.
