In 1978 Kroll manufactured the first K-3000, according to Favelle Favco, their sister company site. From Mr. Kessel I found out that the crane had a maximum possible height under hook of 150m( it was never erected to that height). The crane could also be mounted on rails to that height, according to Kroll officials. So, at a total height of 175m this would be the tallest saddle jib tower crane , ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It`s also a big difference if the crane is mounted on rails or on fixed base. So this crane is a winner top.gif ...but it was never erected to that height. wacko.gif
I also have a such one... whistling.gif

Hello.
Potain 8520 nice pic...
I think all versions of scm cranes is from potain all after they eject out of production.
In this version it is similar to an md 900 with a similar design. China crane, but the quality is not the same. whistling.gif

@Linaprim: I noticed that tallest freestanding heights for static towers are not necessary superior to the heights or rail travelling cranes. For instance- the tallest static tower is Linden 8952 with 139 m HUH, but there are railed tower cranes with a height under hook close to that value, like potain MD-1400, with 137,4m HUH. Also, as we saw above, Kroll can manufacture as custom made cranes- towers with HUH of at least 150m, both as static and travelling versions. Favco cranes like m1680D- the tallest luffer I know(180m HUH, about 190m total height) can attain these values also mounted both static or mobile. So if a mast configuration is suitable for a freestanding static height, I think the same height could be attained in most of the cases for a rail mounted tower, if is provided a big enough base. For some cranes, it's true the HUH for static version is much bigger- for instance richier gT-1425 is 75 m tall in static version, and 65 mobile. But the gauge of the rail is only 6 meters. I think the things would have been different if they provided a base of about 10m or so. What do you think ?

@Kim
Of course, these SCM cranes are made under Potain licence.
