When the truck drives backwards beside the excavator and sees this "ball" in the mirror, the distance is correct. First when the excavator turns around and second to have the right distance between excavator and truck for the loading sequence. 1 1 Quote
shovelman 1,437 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Yes, it is a "haul truck spotter". Most that I have seen are spheres or spherical and are lighted. If an operation has the space for double-sided loading and talented operators, it is a valuable tool for both safety and efficiency. They can also be fitted with electronics for collision avoidance systems to protect the trucks and the clean-up dozer as well. Quote
